Course Description:             This course aims to provide the student with knowledge of spreadsheet use in the context of accounting and economic applications. We will work with Excel, because that is the spreadsheet application of choice for business and government. Much of what you learn about Excel is directly applicable to other spreadsheets, such as Lotus 1-2-3 or Quattro Pro.

Course Objective:                Students are expected to walk out of this course with an ability to work comfortably in an Excel 97 environment. In addition, students will learn some of the basic and most important government economic statistics and how to apply them using Excel in introductory sectoral analysis.

Assignments:                       Submit your homework on time. Assignments will be given well in advance, so you will have plenty of time to complete them. A late homework will reduce your grade by 10%. In other words, a perfect assignment which is late will receive 90% instead of a 100%. All assignments must be either submitted on a disk or emailed to the instructor.
