Feminism Means...

What is Feminism?

A feminist is anyone who believes in the importance of women for social equality .  I like to think of it as a philosophy of life.  It's just something you believe in and live by.  It's your values and beliefs.

Can I be a feminist?

Anyone can be a feminist.  There are many different types of feminism that believe in different things.  Some people may even find that their values fit into more than one of these types.   Not all feminists agree with each other and that is o.k.

Can Men be feminists?

Sure, of course, that is if they truly value the importance of women and equality.  There really are men out there who believe and support feminism.  Although it is rare, because it's hard for men to value women in a male dominated society.

Can I be a feminist and still be pro choice?

Yes.  Women are entitled to their own beliefs.  You can be either and still be a feminist.  Like I said before, Feminists can be different.

Why isn't their change?

Our Society has come to culturally accept the way things are currently.  It's very difficulty to make a societal change because people don't adapt easily to change.  We are scared to give women power.

Why are feminist criticized?

Feminism may go against religious beliefs.

How can I become involved?

You can become involved by conducting research, taking women's studies, becoming a member of a feminist organization, writing a letter to the senator, signing petitions, supporting campaigns, volunteering work for women, and buying products that support feminism.

Is Feminism dead?

No, it only just begun.  The more and more people that become involved can help make a difference for future generations to come.  At least maybe someday far beyond our future, there will be equality among all.
